Potlatch Fund
Potlatch Fund used two grants for $115,000 to help strengthen Native American groups across the Pacific Northwest through providing nonprofit management training, leadership development and fundraising assistance. (Potlatch is the Chinook word for the Native spirit of gift-giving.) Confederated Tribes of the Warm Springs was among the groups that received help. The photo above was taken at a community cultural celebration during the summer concert series at Washington Park in Portland. The dance is performed by Damon Kelly and Gerry Rainingbird (Rocky Boy Cree) of performance by Painted Sky Northstar/Moveo Dance Company.
