November 2011 Awards Announced
This month Meyer Memorial Trust awarded more than $7 million to 21 nonprofit organizations across Oregon. Most of the awards were grants totaling $3.925 million, while two were program-related investment loans amounting to $3.094 million.
Grants included awards for leadership development to four member organizations of the Coalition of Communities of Color (CCC) under a project MMT funded through the ideas4oregon campaign. Founded in 2001, CCC is a Multnomah County-based group of culturally specific organizations that work together to address the socioeconomic disparities, institutional racism and inequity of services experienced by their families, children and communities.

To develop a more in-depth service model for at-risk girls.

To help build a new dental clinic to expand capacity to provide dental care to low-income and uninsured community members

Awarded: $150,000
To renovate the organization's headquarters in order to reduce energy costs, provide community meeting space, improve child care information and nutrition services and drug prevention programs.
Portland Business Alliance Charitable Institute, Portland
Awarded: $2,000
To support the Partners in Diversity program.
Profile Theatre Project, Portland
Awarded: $70,000
To implement an organizational transition plan.
Recovery Association Project, Portland
Awarded: $150,000
For additional staff capacity to support expansion of shared housing opportunities for survivors of domestic violence, chronically homeless people, people with mental illness and those recovering from addiction.

To help build a science center to meet increased demand for science and technology courses in eastern Oregon.

For a grant to help build the Cornelius Wellness Center and a program-related investment loan to refinance the McMinnville Clinic to increase access to health care for low-income, underinsured and uninsured patients.
