March 2012 Grants Announced
At the March program meeting, Meyer Memorial Trust awarded 23 grants for nearly $2.2 milion to nonprofit organizations working across Oregon. Because MMT's fiscal year ends March 31, we can now report that in our 2011-12 fiscal year, we made 349 awards for more than $31 million.
These awards bring the total since MMT began operating in 1982 to 6,776 awards totaling $559 million. After giving away nearly $660 million, and contributing nearly $50 million to the local economy through our operating budget during that period, we still have approximately $655 million left! And we are working to continue to grow our corpus through our investments so we can give away that much again before too many years go by.
