Is Junuary over yet?
For
a day at least, it feels more like June than January. Please, may we
see more like this... Along those lines, I learned a new term this week.
Besides Junuary. You know those rosebuds that endure so much rain they
turn brown and die before opening? They're called mummy roses. The name fits, doesn't it?
We have several things to tell you about on this fine Friday afternoon:
- We've announced our June grants.
- Sally Yee has been TWSTing again, this time in Moro, The Dalles and Maupin. Karrisa Lowe accompanied her and wrote the blog post about Moro and Phoebe O'Leary attended and reported on the meeting in The Dalles. Sally's Maupin report is here too.
- Program Team Manager Candy Solojovs recommends a Think Out Loud show (from OPB) that aired on June 15 on the cuts proposed to Oregon's state budget.
- If you're ready for some good news for a change, check in on our ideas4oregon forum. We had more than 100 ideas come in during the first 48 hours. And we know there are still more great ideas out there. Submissions are accepted through July 13, 2010.
- If you'd like to know a bit more about ideas4oregon, you can watch the segment of CEO Doug Stamm on Live at 7 on KGW TV. By the way, we now have a page on our website that tracks media coverage of MMT.
Let's all keep the faith that next time we talk summer will be in full force. Have a great weekend.
