For a number of years, Meyer Memorial Trust has been awarding grants that help nonprofit organizations increase contributed or earned income, realize new efficiencies, or otherwise build capacity to advance their missions. In the foundation world, these awards are usually known as "capacity building" grants.
MMT realizes that one of the most powerful ways to leverage its resources is through making investments that strengthen nonprofit organizations. MMT intends to continue to focus attention in this important area of grantmaking.
In refining this program, we conducted a national scan and engaged consultants experienced in nonprofit capacity building. We will continue to look for additional opportunities for investments that increase the capacity of nonprofit organizations.
