TWST coming to Columbia Gorge and Eastern Oregon

We're happy to announce that we'll be visiting four communities in the Columbia Gorge and eastern Oregon the last week of June! We have Two-Way Street Tour community meetings planned for Hood River, Boardman, La Grande, and Enterprise from Monday, June 24th to Thursday, June 27th, 2013.I will appear (along with an as yet undecided colleague or two) at these events to provide advice about seeking grants from Meyer Memorial Trust and to collect information about the needs of nonprofits and communities in the area. Many people and organizations have asked us, why did we use Drupal to build this site and was it the right tool? As the one who advised it and did the bulk of the technical work, I thought I'd make that the subject of my first MMT Blog entry. Right from the beginning of the project to rebuild our site, we knew we wanted to use open source and we knew we wanted to share what we'd learned with other nonprofits and, well, everyone. We were hopeful that the lessons we learned and our shared thinking and ideas would be useful to others. So here follows our rationale.
