Dear friends and colleagues,
After seven amazing years, I'll be leaving the Meyer Memorial Trust at the end of this year. It’s been a pleasure and a privilege to work with each of you, whether on individual grant requests, the Oregon Small Schools Initiative, Affordable Housing Initiative, Our Oceans campaign or the Idea4Oregon's Leadership Development in Communities of Color.

Diving into Oregon's Ocean
If you’ve perused our website, you may have come across a description of MMT’s investment in ocean conservation. MMT has always had a strong commitment to the stewardship of Oregon’s land-based natural resources. In 2006, we learned that an incredibly small portion of private funding for the environment goes to ocean conservation.
A resolve to blog!
Our communications director, Marie Deatherage, has been urging more of the MMT staff to join the 21st century and blog! I want to get with the program, but honestly find the idea of blogging daunting to say the least. An experience I had as college English major, at the dawn of the digital age, may have some bearing.
