TWST in Central Coast – Lincoln City
Lincoln City, Lincoln County, OR
The MMT TWST rolled into Lincoln City on Wednesday for a stop at the Lincoln City Cultural Center.

Driving into town on Tuesday afternoon under mostly sunny skies offered amazing views of the coast and the Pacific. The ocean seem particularly active to this Portlander, but that may be typical for this time of year.
Close to 40 folks from a wide range of nonprofits and communities packed the Cultural Center’s conference room. In addition to group from Lincoln City, we had visitors from Depoe Bay, Neskowin, Pacific City, Otis, and even Newport. This was a diverse group representing nonprofits that work with children, provide housing and emergency assistance, support the arts, and promote the library and reading. There was also strong representation from the North Lincoln Agate Society (rock hounds to you and me).
After a great introduction and welcome by the Cultural Center’s Executive Director Natacha Popovici, we dove right into the discussion. Although the questions covered a number of topics, most were focused on the technical aspects of MMT’s application process and the types of support we provide. There were specific questions about capital, operating, and capacity building support. MMT provides all three, but we advise everyone to check out our website for more specific information. There was also a good question about whether we support collaboration, or groups that are working together. Yes we do, if the collaboration makes sense, helps to further the mission of the groups involved, and the participating organizations have the internal capacity to be effective in the collaboration.
We also wanted to highlight the strong presence of arts organizations at the Lincoln City, and other Central Coast TWST stops. The arts are clearly an important and well-supported facet of life in Oregon’s coastal communities.

A final thank you to all of the Central Coast TWST stops in Reedsport, Florence, Newport, and Lincoln City and particularly to our three local contacts who made all the arrangements - Kathleen Miller from the Reedsport’s Coastal Douglas Arts and Business Alliance, Steve Skidmore from the Florence Public Library and Arts, and Pam Salisbury with the Lincoln County Children’s Advocacy Center.
