Looking ahead at MMT

It's difficult to overstate the changes Meyer Memorial Trust has been through over the past half decade. Five years ago, we were almost exclusively a general purpose responsive foundation, with nearly all our giving in response to proposals submitted from organizations across Oregon and Clark County, Washington. The field of philanthropy, however, has learned much  READ MORE

Topics: Grantmaking

We've been asked by a number of attendees at both the Portland and Roseburg workshops to publish a list of all participants to facilitate networking from around the state.

This request was also made by some who were not able to attend the workshop because they may want to participate in a project submitted by those eligible to submit a proposal.

View the list of the Portland workshop attendees here.
And, the Roseburg workshop attendees here.

I was wondering if there will be a second round of funding for these proposals. After talking with our main partner ( a non profit housing agency) we decided that our plates were full until December 2009 in trying to raise funds and get major projects off the ground. Therefore, we decided we would not be able to respond in a timely manner to meet grant deadlines by the end of 2009.

Currently, we have no specific plan to issue another RFP. However, we will evaluate the outcomes of this RFP and decide how to proceed on this matter. Some factors we likely will consider are the initial interest in the RFP, value of the workshop training, number of proposals received, and quality of the proposals. In the long-term we will evaluate the outcomes of the planning that occurred as a result of MMT support.
