MMT Quarterly Awards Report
Awards Report for FY2011 through Q2 (April-September 2010)
As of September 30, 2010 (the end of the second quarter of our fiscal year), MMT has made 119 awards totaling $10,656,540. These awards are listed in our Awards Database and are announced monthly on our website.
For this quarter, I thought I’d provide an overview of awards made this fiscal year through all our programs and initiatives combined.
Awards by Focus Activity: As you can see by the chart below, 40% of the total dollar amount of the awards were made in the area of human services.
Awards by Type of Support: 35% of the total dollar amount of the awards were for program support, 36% for building/renovation projects, 21% for operating support, and the remainder for capacity building, technical assistance and in-kind support.
Awards by Location: Approximately 50% of the awards were made to organizations based in the Northern Willamette Valley region, with the remainder of the awards dispersed around the state and in Clark County, Washington. Since people often ask how we define our regions, I have included a map below:
Something to keep in mind when reviewing where our awards are made is that the MMT is mainly a responsive funder. This means that we respond to the proposals that are submitted to us. Therefore, the location of the awards is often a reflection of the location of the organizations that submitted applications.
I will provide another update on grantmaking in January 2011. The third-quarter statistics will include another round of Grassroots Grants, as well as Operating Fund awards.
