At the June program meeting, Meyer Memorial Trust awarded 45 grants and one program-related investment loan (PRI) for nearly $2.3 million.

In a separate announcement, we recently noted MMT has supassed the $500 million mark in awards to nonprofit organizations, primarily in Oregon and Clark County, Washington. We are acknowledging reaching the half a billion dollars in our ideas4oregon project, asking Oregon's collective brain to suggest creative and innovative ways to kick off the next $500 million.

June awards included 11 Responsive Grants, one PRI, one award under the Willamette River Initiative and 33 Grassroots Grants, listed below.

Responsive Grants

Black Parent Initiative, Portland, OR
Awarded: $121,900
To help strengthen this organization’s financial structure in order to support growth in programs and funding

Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Oregon, Bend, OR
Awarded: $142,000
To strengthen core services for after-school programming and to support youth members' academic success

Camp Fire, Portland Metro Council, Portland, OR
Awarded: $150,000
For general operating support for this organization that serves low-income youth in the Portland metropolitan area

Grantmakers of Oregon and SW Washington, Portland, OR
Awarded: $5,000
To help support the organization’s regional conference in October 2010

High Desert Museum, Bend, OR
Awarded: $150,000
To help stabilize the financial condition of this central Oregon educational facility
