Looking ahead at MMT

It's difficult to overstate the changes Meyer Memorial Trust has been through over the past half decade. Topics: Grantmaking

If you got an “out of office” email reply from me earlier this month, it’s because I was attending the Grantmakers of Oregon and SW Washington (GOSW) conference in beautiful Astoria, Oregon.

What happens at a grantmakers conference you may ask?  Well, it’s an opportunity for funders of all types (corporate, private, community, Tribal) to come together to share information and lessons learned about grantmaking, as well as to learn more about the myriad issues affecting our communities.

One of the conference highlights was a presentation by The Foundation Center on a soon-to-be-released report on “Grantmaking to Communities of Color in Oregon” that was commissioned by GOSW.  This report is intended to provide baseline data on giving patterns of Oregon foundations in the context of the rapidly changing demographics of our state. Karissa and I participated on the report committee for the past year with a fabulous group of foundation partners, and we will post a link to the report when it is released next month.
