Looking ahead at MMT

It's difficult to overstate the changes Meyer Memorial Trust has been through over the past half decade. Five years ago, we were almost exclusively a general purpose responsive foundation, with nearly all our giving in response to proposals submitted from organizations across Oregon and Clark County, Washington. The field of philanthropy, however, has learned much  READ MORE

Deadlines

Today is a deadline for both our Grassroots Grants and Responsive Grants Inquiry applications.  Since we often get many frantic, last-minute calls with questions, I thought I'd answer a few of the common ones here:

  1. I want to apply, but I just noticed that it takes 2 business days to register my organization before my account  is activated and today is the deadline!
Yes, when you submit a request to register your organization, it takes time for us to check whether the organization already has an account set up and to also confirm the organization's tax-exempt status/eligibility.  When a deadline rolls around, it gets especially busy.  While we normally process registrations the same business day we receive them, sometimes it takes longer.  Please try not to wait until the last minute to apply, but if you run into problems, feel free to call or email us at grantsadmin@mmt.org.
  2. The deadline is the 15th--what time of day is the application actually due?
You may submit your applications until midnight of the day of a deadline.  We will then process the applications the following morning.
  3. I filled out my application, but it gives me an error message on one of the pages and it won't let me submit it.
If you get an error message on one of the pages, it means that there is data missing in one of the required fields.  Navigate to the page causing the problem to locate the error message.  If you still can't figure out what's wrong, just give us a call at 503-228-5512 or send an email to grantsadmin@mmt.org and we'll be happy to troubleshoot the problem for you.
  4. I ran into a technical problem (e.g., lost my Internet connectivity/my computer broke/I can't figure out how to complete a section of the application form, etc.) and now I'll miss the deadline!
If you run into a last-minute technical challenge, just give us a call the next business day, and we'll be happy to assist you.  Your application will not be excluded from a batch deadline due to technical problems with the form.

If you experience any challenges with the application forms or process that are not addressed here, do not hesitate to contact us at 503-228-5512.
